Who's behind DexteraAI

DexteraAI was founded on a single conviction: that surgical delivery deserves to be measured with the same rigor as the therapy itself.

Mitchell D. Wolf, MD

Founder & CEO, DexteraAI · Vitreoretinal Surgeon

DexteraAI was founded by Mitchell D. Wolf, MD, a vitreoretinal surgeon with more than three decades of experience performing and teaching retinal microsurgery. He earned his B.S. and M.D. from the University of Michigan, then completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Iowa and a vitreoretinal surgery fellowship at the Medical College of Wisconsin.

The company grew from a clinical observation: in complex subretinal therapeutic trials, small differences in surgical execution may influence procedural success, safety, and interpretation of outcomes, yet those differences are rarely quantified.

Dr. Wolf founded DexteraAI to develop objective, video-derived measures of microsurgical technical performance, beginning with subretinal gene and cell therapy delivery.
